Internet I think is the most obvious one to pick pertaining to my life. It seems to me that the invention of the internet has made me wonder what we used to do before the internet even existed. We use the internet a great deal and it seems as though we’ve past the point of relying on it as our source to knowledge, education and a way of life. Having the internet has made things so much easier and has given anyone the ability to discover facts that may have never known before or just didn’t have the time to learn.

 

Education is a major source for the internet. I feel having the internet for education has two effects. It can be used as something harmful or used as a great learning tool. For example, when I was in school and internet was just being discovered, we had to rely on books and reading as many as we could to gain that knowledge. If you use the internet as a tool though, instead of taking the risk of maybe reading over something or maybe going to the wrong library that may not have as much information on that one topic; rather now you have all the answers you need at your fingertips. I’m able to learn more about topics I wouldn’t have known otherwise. I also get that sense of being able to figure out what’s truth and what’s not. I feel under my own power I’ve been able to gather all of that knowledge and use it with my education.

 

Career is a major source for the internet as well. I go to work everyday wondering and have even asked people that have been with the company for a long time, what did this company do without internet? It seems as though company’s were non existent without these computers. I feel it’s made things much more simplified and made the consumer market much more competitive. I have always wanted to start up my own business, rather than going to a library to find a “business book” or asking random business owners, I feel as though I can do a google search on the internet and find all the answers I’m looking for or at least be pointed in the right direction on my own free will without sounding like I’m asking dumb questions. I feel the internet is a great source to communicate, learn, and progress in life.
