Interview with Target
I did an interview for Target Corporation about a month ago. I found out about Target at the Career Fair that was held on campus and followed through by signing up with MTSU's
I prepared for the interview within the two weeks. I did research on their company and research on the profession to make sure I knew what I would possibly be getting myself into before the actual interview.
I arrived at the
As they called me in for the interview, I was trying to lighten the mood to let myself try to be more at ease; but it did not work in my favor. It was a very standard interview with many behaviorial type questions. I thought I knew what my responses were going to be; and once I got in this little room, I did not know. I drew a few blanks on some questions and quickly came up with some answers. They were not as good as I had planned, but I made it through. After I spoke with the first interviewer, I went in the hallway and filled out the application until they called me back in for the next one on one. This interview went the same as the first round; which was not too great.
The interviewers were hard to really communicate with. Their nonverbal communication was very blank. They did not show any expression on their faces; all they did was look at me, and then look down to take notes on what I was saying. The only verbal communication was the questions they would ask me.
After the interview, I thought it was awful. I did not think I was going to get a second interview; which I did not. Looking back, I think I needed to be more prepared than I was; maybe even over prepared myself. I need to think about my answers to questions and answer them effectively.
