            A computer is a type of device we use everyday and today it is very hard to find a society where the computer is not used. Computers help us do many different things and help to make life a little easier. Computers have many functions such as a few which consist of the internet, email, word-processing programs, games and much more. Without computers businesses and schools would not survive. Computers come in many different types or brands such as ‘Dell’, ‘hp’, ‘Sony’, ‘Toshiba’ and also have other types of devices that work in accordance with the computer. In many different ways the computer proves to be a type of device that has significantly changed the way the world works for the better.

            A computer is very useful when it comes to the internet. The internet is significant because we use it to do a variety of different things. These things may include research, communication, and expanding our knowledge of a subject. The internet allows us to discover new things and new information to use in our everyday lives. Computer software consists of many programs from word processing programs to ‘power point’. These types of programs are beneficial to users in that they provide assistance in creating documents and presentations. Computers can also come in different types such as a laptop or a desktop monitor. Laptops are convenient for students or business workers in that they are portable and easy to carry from one location to another.

            To use a computer you simply turn it on by pressing a button and it does the rest. The computer must load its systems and programs but it should only take a few moments. Most functions of the computer are self-explanatory and easy to understand. The icons visible on the desktop background screen allow users to obtain different functions of the computer. One may also use the ‘start’ button at the bottom left-hand corner to access other programs and accessories. These programs range from accessories such as paint and games, to personal documents and pictures. A computer can hold many files and also store many images. Each document or image can be placed in a folder with a name so that it is organized and easily retrieved.

            Computers also have different types of essential devices that work along with the computers programs. These types of devices consist of printers and fax machines. These tools are important because they help to generate a form of a document which can be transferred and physically visible. Printers are able to print a number of copies in only a short period of time. Without printers and fax machines the business world would be slower and less organized.

            The computer proves to be a type of device that is easy to use and used efficiently. The computer assists users to organize and produce different functions that make life a little easier. Without computers one would not have the ability to view information from the internet, produce documents and presentations, or use tools such as printers and fax machines. The importance of computers is that they are convenient and used to produce many important functions that are significant in society today.
