Cons:The vocabulary that is used takes me some time which causes the duration of my reading to be prolonged.
Day 2:
Pros: I finally accomplished briefing the Fagan v Summers case. I had a sense of accomplishment and understanding of the case.
Cons: Tort law is so commonly used in cases against school districts. Everybody is sue happy.
Day 3:
Pros:I liked the guideline that Dr. Adams gave: The higher the level of activity the higher the standard of care. The younger the child the higher the standard of care. This is a good rule of thumbe when applying standard of care to a situation.
Cons: I think that school boards and individuals could easily be found negligent much of the time without their knowledge of them being negligent.
Day 4:
Pros: I appreciate the Establishment Clause and what it does to protect the rights of everyone.
Cons:As a christian I am saddened by the removal of all christian influence down to the pledge of allegiance.
Day 5:
Pros: I LOVED the in class discussions and clarity that was reached during this session.
Cons: I am extremely overwhelmed at this point with all of the reading, assingments, etc.
Day 6:
Pros:I appreciate the compulsory education laws establishing a framework for us to follow. I also was interested and pleased that the Supreme Court sided with Yoder and confirmed that the Amish culture is granted certain provisions. I think that their family and community are important to them and I liked that the Supreme Court recognized this and supported it.

Pros: I felt that I knew the answers to most of the questions that were asked of me on the test.
Cons: I did feel that a few of the questions were very tricky in what was REALLY being asked. I didn't do nearly as well as I would have liked.

Pros: Individuals with Disabilities Act (IDEA) is a good piece of legislation that gives guidelines as to the treatment and education that all children should be able to receive under the law

Pros: I appreciated that there can't be large discrepancies in equity and adequacy among schools within an area. Also that there has been established an adequate education so that all may have the same basics within their educational experience.

Pros: Good information reguarding the procedures for school employment.
Cons:I don't particularly care for the notion of tenure. I would love to work in a school district that offered me a contract every year because I was a great teacher not because I had been there the previous 22 years.
Day 13
Pros: I am glad to see that females are becoming leaders within our schools. And I especially enjoyed once again being IN the classroom and having the discussions that took place.
Day 15
I appreciate that I am granted the right to my privacy while at school and that I have a right to freedom of speech with exceptions within the workplace.
