Individual task

 

 Part I:

 
I studied in a public elementary school and I did not have foreing language experience. I also studied in a public hight school, and I began with foreing language, English. I think that my experience was not good for many reasons. First, I had one class per week, that I consider not enough to learn foreing language. Second , the school did not adopt a textbook, the teacher worked with ower material. Third, the teacher did not speak in the target language and just teach grammatical structures. Althought my experiences with English was not good in the hight school, I becames interest in leaning English and started an english course with a private teacher. This experience was interesting, even though I just learned some aspects of grammar . Then, before started collegue I went to Cenex (Private institute of language) in order to improve my skills. I though that Cenex help me improve my speaking, writing and vocabulary. After started my college I stopped with cenex, and began  learn in the couse of integrated skills. This course helped me learn some aspects that I liked too much, as for example functional grammar.
What motivated me study English was because when I listened some kind of music I did not understand nothing. So, started to study English in order to understant what the songs meant. 
 
Part II:
1° suggestion: The communicatition in the class should be in the target language. Teacher should develop communicative activities such as games,  roles play and problem-solving tasks. These communicative activities should have three features that help learners improve communication: choise, information- gap and feedback. For instance, teacher could play a game that allows the speaker choosing not only what to say, but also how he or she wants to say it. In this game one person in a conversation has information that the other person does not know, providing a real communication in order to know the missing information. Finally the game should provides feedback that is when the speaker have the confirmation that they were understood. Game is a good suggestions to make class more communicative.
 
2° suggestion: In a class for children, the teacher could associate the target language with situation outside the class. They could include areas as family, sport, holidays, etc. This areas are part of child’s real world. Differents  subjects as for example, history; geography are also part of the child’s reality and should be linked with the language they are learning.  This kind of activite provides a link between reality and childre’s own experience and a class  more communicative.
