Spaghetti Bridge Contest Spaghetti Bridge Contest Student will design and construct a bridge made of spaghetti. Bridge must be constructed using acceptable engineering practices. Assessment scores will be derived from bridge design, scale drawings, materials list/cost calculation, and written report. Symmetry of Structure	Excellent Bridge structure is symmetrical.	Good Bridge structure is somewhat symmetrical.	Fair Bridge structure is not very symmetrical.	Poor Bridge structure is not symmetrical at all
Aesthetics	Excellent Bridge structure is pleasing to the eye. Shows much creativity as well as being square symmetrical, and neat.	Good Bridge structure is somewhat pleasing to the eye. Shows some creativity as well as being somewhat square symmetrical, and neat.	Fair Bridge structure is not very pleasing to the eye. Shows little creativity as well as being not very square symmetrical, and neat.	Poor Bridge structure is not at all pleasing to the eye. Shows no creativity as well as being not at all square symmetrical, and neat.
Glued Connections	Excellent All glued connections are neat and there is no excess glue.	Good Many glued connections are neat and there is little excess glue.	Fair Some glued connections are neat and there is some excess glue.	Poor Few glued connections are neat and there is much excess glue.
Limits	Excellent All measurements are within the constraints set by instructor.	Good Most measurements are within the constraints set instructor.	Fair Some measurements are within the constraints set by instructor.	Poor Few measurements are within the constraints set by instructor.
Success Ratio	Excellent Bridge holds more than 3 times its weight.	Good Bridge holds between 2 and 3 times its weight.	Fair Bridge holds at least double its weight.	Poor Bridge holds less than double its weight.
Scale Drawing
Neatness	Excellent Scale drawing is neatly drawn, includes labels, accurate scale ratio, side view, top view, and bottom view of bridge.	Good Scale drawing is neat, includes labels, inaccurate scale ratios, side view, top view, and bottom view of bridge.	Fair Scale drawing is missing one of the following aspects: labels, scale ratio, side view, top view, or bottom view.	Poor Scale drawing is not neat, and is missing 2 or more of the following: labels, scale ratio, side view, top view, or bottom view.
Final Bridge Matches Design	Excellent Final bridge matches drawing in all aspects.	Good Final bridge differs in only 1 aspect from the drawing.	Fair Final bridge differs in 2 aspects from the drawing.	Poor Final bridge differs in 3+ aspects from the drawing.
