Animal Report Animal Report Students are selecting an animal, researching and writing about their animal, and designing a poster to aid them in their presentation. The presentation should tell about where their animal lives, what their animal eats, what their animal looks like, and why they choose the animal. Students may write their report notes on index cards, or use their posters to help them remember the important facts about their animal during their presentation. What The Animal Looks Like	Beginning Description of animal is inaccurate or does not give any improtant details. No picture of animal, or picture was very small.	Developing Gives a description of animal but leaves out a couple of important features. Picture is present but not labeled.	Secure Gives an accurate description of how the animal looks, and has a detailed picture with important parts labeled.
About The Animal's Needs	Beginning Does not list any items that the animal eats.	Developing Lists one item that the animal eats.	Secure Lists two or more items that the animal eats, and includes pictures on the poster.
Where The Animal Lives	Beginning Gives little or no details about where the animal is found and includes very few facts about the animals habitiat.	Developing Gives some details about where the animal is found in the world,but only includes some facts about the animals habitat.	Secure Gives details about where in the world the animal is found, and tells many facts about it's habitat.
Animal Project booklet, diorama, poster, slideshow, etc.	Beginning No pictures, or pictures are too small to see, many of the important facts are not included in the project	Developing Pictures are okay, somewhat clearly labeled, and most of the important facts are included.
