Cartoon Images	Poor The images are poor and the joke does not make sense or pertain to current issues.	Fair The images and joke are vague for the reader to understand.	Good Images represent political parties and members proficiently. The joke is understood.	Perfect Images represent political parties or members exceptionally well. The joke is clearly understood and relevant to current political climate.
Neatness / Effort	Poor The cartoon is distractingly messy or very poorly designed. It is not attractive. Almost all their time was off task.	Fair The cartoon is acceptably attractive though it may be a bit messy. A bit of time was off task.	Good The cartoon is attractive in terms of layout and neatness. Most of the student's time was on task.	Perfect The cartoon is exceptionally attractive in terms of design, layout, and neatness. Student used all their time wisely.
Spelling and Grammar	Poor There are many mistakes and they interfere with understanding the thought process.	Fair There are many mistakes but the reader can still understand the message.	Good There is a pattern of mistakes. The student is proficient but there is room for improvement.	Perfect There is only 1-2 errors. There is not pattern to the mistakes. There is clear evidence of mastery.

Grammar and Usage	Poor The language used is confusing and has many mechanical mistates.	Fair The language used is somewhat confusing ant there are some mechanics mistakes.	Good The language used is clear and concise. There are a few mistakes.	Perfect The student clearly conveys their message and there are no mistakes in grammar.
