Rhythm	1 No sense of pulse. Rhythms are incorrect	2 Inconsistant pulse. Most rhythms are incorrect.	3 Basic sense of pulse. Some rhythms are incorrect.	4 Secure pulse with minor rhythmic problems	5 Strong sense of pulse. All rhythms performed accurately
Tone	1 Poor sound. Needs more bow, better weight distribution, needs better contact point. Keep left hand secure for good sound	2 Sound not developed. Keep working towards more volume and consistancy in tone	3 Tone is generally consistant. Continue to expand on good bow principles	4 Tone is developed. Good basic use of the bow and left hand	5 Tone is excellent. Great use and distribution of the bow. Steady contact point, good arm weight.
Left Hand	1 Does not demonstrate basic left hand structure.	2 Basic structure beginning but not consistant	3 Left hand has correct shape and design but has too much tension, limiting success	4 Left hand has good basic structure. Wrist is relaxed and arm moves fluidly around instrument	5 Left hand is excellent. The hand is consistant, accurate, relaxed and allows for success
Right Hand	1 Does not demonstrate basic right hand structure	2 Bow arm needs attention.No flexibility Arm needs to be relaxed.
