Early Childhood Writing
	Poor 1 pts	Fair 2 pts	Good 3 pts	Excellent 4 pts
Letters	Poor Child makes lines on the paper	Fair Child make lines that resemble letters on paper.	Good Child writes at least 2 letters from their name on the paper.	Excellent Child writes their name consistently on the paper.
words	Poor Child writes their name on the paper.	Fair Child writes letters together that resemble words.	Good Child writes one or two words in an attempted sentence.	Excellent Child consistently writes legible words in a 5 word sentence.
Sentences	Poor Child attempts to write words to make a sentence.	Fair Child writes 2 words together to make a sentence.	Good Child writes 3-4 words in a sentence.	Excellent Child writes out a thought using 5-7 words.
