Underhand Throwing
	Poor 1 pts	Good 2 pts	Excellent 3 pts
Ready Position	Poor The student shows 2 or fewer characteristics.	Good The student shows 3 of 5 characteristics.	Excellent The student always has knees bent, facing target, feet shoulder-width apart, eyes on target, object held in dominant hand (palm up) in front of the body.
Arm Back	Poor The student does not swing the throwing arm back.	Good The student some of the time swings throwing arm back but may not be smooth.	Excellent The student always swings the throwing arm back smoothly to at least the waist.
Step and Throw	Poor The student shows 1 or 0 characteristics.	Good The student shows 2 of 4 characteristics.	Excellent The student always steps forward with the opposite foot, bring the throwing arm forward, and release the ball below waist. The arm stays straight throughout the entire movement.
Follow Through	Poor The student occasionally shows this.	Good The student shows this some of the time.	Excellent The student always has throwing hand continuing toward the target in front of the body with palm facing upward.
