Journal Entry Rubric 6th Grade Journal Entry Rubric 7th Grade Journal entries MUST be 5-7 sentences. No more. No less. If you are absent, write the word "absent" across the page for the date you missed. You will not need to make-up that entry. If your journal is missing 2 pts. (see scoring) will be deducted for each missing day. No exceptions. You will still need to complete your journal on a sheet of paper and staple it into journal. Proficient - Content and purpose of the writing are clear. -All sentences are correctly written.
Format/Grammar	Needs Work - Paper contains numerous grammatical, punctuation, and spelling errors. - Paragraph is inadequate 1-3 sentences in length.	Still Learning - Paragraph contains few grammatical, punctuation and spelling errors. - Paragraph has 4 sentences.	Proficient - Rules of grammar, usage, and punctuation are followed; spelling is correct. - Paragraph is 5 or more complete sentences.
