Self-Space	Emerging Student does not recognize the concept of self space from the start. Has trouble understanding when redirected. (5 pts)	Developing Student recognizes self space, but does not adjust when it is violated. (6-8 pts)	Competent When asked, student immediately moves to a space all their own, arms length away from the nearest person. Understands and makes adjustment when self-space has been violated. (9-10 pts)
General Space	Emerging Student moves through general space effectively less than 50% of the time. (5 pts)	Developing Student moves through general space effectively 50% of the time. (6-8 pts)	Competent Student moves effectively in general space, showing these features: eyes up watching to avoid others, Look for and move to open spaces, Slow down or speed up to avoid contact with others, and stay within the boundaries. (9-10 pts)
