Counseling Theories Research Paper 
An 8-10 page research paper expounding on how to properly use multiple theories to treat a singular case. Using the case of Kate you will 1) Identify and discuss the most pertinent clinical issues; 2) Choose three counseling theories to help frame treatment of these issues; 3) Rationale for choosing these theories; 4) Examples of techniques and expected outcomes of using these.

The paper should be 8-10 pages not including references and title page/abstract. No minimum or maximum number of references but rather use what is necessary to create a cohesive and well formed document. It is estimated that 8-15 references would be needed.

Theories
30 %

Three different counseling theories are explored in relation to the case study given. Rationales for why these theories would be useful are presented with evidence on efficacy in these type of cases and/or age groups, basic tenants of the theories, and how one would expect they'd be used in this context.

Three theories are argued and presented with adequate rational and understanding how/why they would be appropriate in this case study.
Proficient

Some components of one's argument is missing or incomplete or fail to link to the case study in a realistic or rational way.
Developing

Components are missing, incomplete or inaccurate. They lack cohesiveness or relevance to the case study.
Techniques

Examples of techniques a counselor could use with this case study are explored and expounded upon. There should be techniques connected to each of the three theories selected in the same paper. Techniques selected should make sense given the realistic circumstances and resources in the presented case study. It is estimated that 2-3 techniques per theory would be sufficient to create an overall effective treatment strategy.
