Character Biographies Step 3
	Poor 1 pts	Fair 2 pts	Good 3 pts	Excellent 4 pts	Superior 5 pts
Cadence / Speed	Poor Character biography is read at a rate of speech that greatly hinders comprehension.	Fair	Good Character biography is read at a slightly accelerated rate of speech evidenced by a deceleration near the end.	Excellent	Superior Character biography is read at a normal rate of speech. It is not rushed to cram everything in under the time limit.
Projection	Poor Voice is not loud and clear. Many words can not be heard, thus making comprehension difficult.	Fair	Good Voice is generally loud and clear, although there is a slight inconsistency. Every word can be heard.	Excellent	Superior Voice is loud and clear. Every word can be heard easily.
Enunciation / Articulation	Poor Many words are difficult to understood because consonants are not produced. Words are often slurred or glided from one to another. For example, "jaeetyet" for "Did you eat yet"	Fair	Good Some words are difficult to understood because consonants are not produced. Words are may be slurred or glided from one to another or endings dropped. For example, "riden" instead of "riding"	Excellent	Superior Every word is easily understood because all hard consonants are produced without slurring or gliding.
Pronunciation	Poor No more than 5 words are mispronounced.	Fair No more than 4 words are mispronounced.	Good No more than 3 words are mispronounced.	Excellent No more than 2 words are mispronounced.	Superior Every word is pronounced correctly.
Questions	Poor A minimum of 4 relevant questions are asked.	Fair A minimum of 8 relevant questions are asked.	Good A minimum of 12 relevant questions are asked.	Excellent A minimum of 16 relevant questions are asked.	Superior A minimum of 20 relevant questions are asked, 2 for each classmate.
