Writer has some errors with screenwriting format and the errors are inconsistent throughout the screenplay (i.e. sometimes done correctly, other times are errors).
Excellent
Writer follows proper screenwriting format, which includes names, stage directions, and scene changes placed correctly on the document. All names of characters are capitalized and lines are formatted to be left or center justified, depending upon direction.
Coherence & message
Poor
The story is flat, or has no real direction to keep the audience interested. The message is lost and there is no reasoning behind why things are happening.
Fair
The story is not engaging. The story is not very coherent and there are areas that don’t seem to suggest a real scenario.
The core message is nearly lost and may not be a message that has any real meaning in our life.
Good
The story has elements that keep the reader interested.
There is some core message but somewhat hard to pull out of the writing. It does address some truth in our lives.
Excellent
The story is an engaging tale and is creative and thought-provoking. The story keeps the reader focused and interested. There is a core message which addresses some sort of social or psychological truth found in humanity.
Creativity
Poor
Writer develops a story line that is dry and writer barely shows any original ideas.It does not develop creativity nor expresses the story in a realistic manner.
Fair
Writer develops a story line that has some unique qualities, but falls flat with creativity. Writer maybe uses some original ideas, but there are few details that make well rounded and believable characters.
Good
The characters are somewhat believable and consistent. The writer does not provide enough specifics to create a well rounded understanding of the character’s personalities.
Excellent
Writer develops the characters and they are believable and genuine in their makeup. The writer shows the characters personalities through speech and action.
