Natural Selection Project Natural Selection Project Students will be given an opportunity to choose a project from the list below. No matter what project the students chooses the following criteria must be met. 1) Introduction - Title of Project, Your Name, Date 2) Explain what natural selection is 3) Who discovered natural selection and how did he discover it? 4) Provide 3 different examples of natural selection each with a visual (picture, video, drawing, etc.) Rubric Code: X2XWAC7 By melazza Ready to use Public Rubric Subject: Biology Type: Project Grade Levels: 9-12

Knowledge	Excellent No question that the student understands all concepts concepts of natural selection. Explained natural selection, who coined the term, and how it was discovered. Provided 3 excellent examples and applied material learned in class to the project.	Good Showed knowledge of the material. Explained natural selection and how the concept was derived. Had two examples and showed that there was satisfactory understanding.	Fair Showed moderate knowledge of the material. Had one example and displayed that there was satisfactory understanding.	Poor Displays little to no knowledge of natural selection. Student did not apply what was learned in class and did not provide ample examples.
Components	Excellent All components are present and maximum effort was put into the creation.	Good Project contains components and shows satisfactory effort.	Fair Project contains most components and shows some effort.	Poor Project includes one or two of the required components and shows little to no effort.
Grammar	Excellent No errors.	Good Very few grammatical errors and spelling errors.	Fair Some grammatical errors and spelling errors.	Poor Many grammatical errors and spelling errors.
Creativity	Excellent Maximum effort is present and student put much time in the creation of the project.	Good Evident that student spent a fair amount of time on the project and thought about the creation of the project.	Fair Evident that student spent a some time on the project and thought about the creation of the project.	Poor Student used very little creativity in the creation of their project.
Visuals	Excellent Student provided three visuals (picture, video, drawing, screen castify, etc.) to enhance or explain Natural Selection.	Good Student provided two visuals (picture, video, drawing, screen castify, etc.) to enhance or explain Natural Selection.	Fair Student provided one visual (picture, video, drawing, screen castify, etc.) to enhance or explain Natural Selection.
