	Exceeds 3 pts	Proficient 2 pts	Novice 1 pts
Syllables	Exceeds Student can name all of the syllables from low Do to high Do	Proficient Student can name most of the syllables from low Do to high Do	Novice Student can name a few of the syllables from low Do to high Do
Melodic Direction	Exceeds Student recognizes melodic direction when singing.	Proficient Student notices melodic direction most of the time when singing.	Novice Student is still working on recognizing melodic direction.
Kodaly	Exceeds Student can sing solfege syllables with the correct hand signs at the same time.	Proficient Student can sing about five solfege syllables with the correct hand signs at the same time.	Novice Student can sing about one to five solfege syllables with the correct hand signs at the same time.
