Mock Inquest Mock Trial This rubric will evaluate the participation of a student based on preparedness, behavior, attitude, attendance, and social interaction while preparing for and performing the mock inquest. Active Involvement	Excellent Student is constantly engaged in the class activity(100%). Student does not need reminders to stay on task.	Above Average Student is often engaged in the activities (90%). Student could participate more in class activity, but is never causing a distraction.	Average Student is often engaged in the activity (80%). Student needs a reminder to get back on task and can be distracting to teacher and classmates.	Poor Student is not involved with the class activity (70% and less). Student needs constant reminders to get back on task. Student is distracting to the class as a whole.	Score
Preparation	Excellent Student has done all assignments with best effort and is ready for the inquest.	Above Average Student has done most of the requirements for the inquest and is ready.	Average Student has completed some assignments and is barely ready for the inquest.	Poor Student contributed little or nothing at all to the overall activity.	Score
Performance	Excellent Student was attentive during the inquest and actively participated. Student did not have to be redirected.	Above Average Student was mostly attentive during the inquest and participated. Student did not need to be redirected.	Average Student was somewhat attentive during the inquest and participated. Had to be redirected non-verbally.	Poor Student was not attentive during the inquest and did not participate. Had to be redirected multiple times.	Score
Attitude	Excellent Student is positive about the activities being learned in class and sets the example for students around him/her.	Above Average Student is positive about the activities being done in class.	Average Student is neutral about the activities. Student spreads mixed feelings around the class, both positive and negative.	Poor Student has a negative attitude. Student makes the experience bad for others around him/her.	Score
