Proper Attitude "A desire to become better at what I am doing"	Poor I did not put forth any effort today. I was on ,y phone more thamn once.	Fair I put for a little effort, but not as much as I could have.	Good I could have put in a lot more effort. I was on my phone.	Excellent I tried my Best Most of the time. I was NOT on my phone at all.	Superior I tried my best ALL class. My phone was put away. I did not have it out.
Level of Concentration "A question of mind over matter." Reading music at sight requires total concentration.	Poor My mind was wandering and I was not thinking about what I should have been.	Fair I concentrated SOME of the time.	Good I concentrated about half the time.	Excellent I concentrated most of the time.	Superior My mind was continuously active in the music today.
Don't Stop "Good sight readers are constantly reading ahead." Always try to keep your place in the music by focusing on beat one of every measure.	Poor I stopped everytime I made a mistake.	Fair I only stopped a few times, but I tried to keep going.	Good I stopped, but continued to follow the music, without putting down my instrument.	Excellent I did not give up, kept my place, watched the teacher, and only got off once or twice.	Superior I did not stop at all today. Even when I made a mistake, I kept going. I watched the teacher often to see what beat we were on.
Look for patterns and "Good sight readers recognize patterns of sounds and rhythms."	Poor I did not look for patterns in rhythms and notes in the music at all.	Fair I noticed a few patterns in rhythms and notes, but did not look at all of them.	Good I looked for patterns in rhythms and notes before I started to play, and correctly performed some of the patterns.
