Rhythm	Needs Improvement Inconsistent pulse. Most rhythms are incorrect.	Satisfactory Basic sense of pulse. Some rhythms are incorrect.	Good Secure pulse with minor rhythmic problems.	Excellent Strong sense of pulse. All rhythms performed accurately
Tone	Needs Improvement Sound not developed. Keep working towards more volume and consistency in tone.	Satisfactory Tone is generally consistent. Continue to expand on good pizzicato/plucking principles.	Good Tone is developed. Good basic use of pizzicato in the left hand.	Excellent Tone is excellent. Great use of pizzicato. Steady contact point, good lift of the plucking finger.
Left Hand	Needs Improvement Basic structure beginning but not consistent.	Satisfactory Left hand has correct shape and design but has too much tension, limiting success.	Good Left hand has good basic structure. Wrist is relaxed and fingers move fluidly around instrument.	Excellent Left hand is excellent. The hand is consistent, accurate, relaxed and allows for success.
Right Hand	Needs Improvement Bow arm needs attention.No flexibility. Arm needs to be relaxed. Address contact point and arm weight	Satisfactory Bow arm has beginning basic structure.
