Point of View 20 pts	Poor Student presented a point of view, but it was unclear with some discrepencaies.	Fair Student presented a point of view, but it lacked strength and clarity.	Good Student presented a good point of view.	Great Student presented a clear and strong point of view with no confusion.
Supporting Evidence 15 pts	Poor Student has weak supporting evidence that does not help establish or relate to his/her point of view.	Fair Student has some evidence, but it does not relate to his/her point of view.	Good Student gives good supporting evidence, but needed a stronger connection to his/her point of view.	Great Student has strong supporting evidence that is clearly connected to the point of view.
Structure 10 pts	Poor Student doesn't have a fully developed introduction, body, and conclusion.	Fair Student has an introduction, body, and conclusion but it isn't fully developed.	Good Student has an introduction, body, and conclusion, but one is not as strong as the others.	Great Student has a strong, introduction, body, and conclusion.
Grammar/Spelling 5 pts	Poor Student has so many errors that the essay is hard to read with no use of proper subject-verb agreement	Fair Student has several spelling errors, but it doesn't interfere with the meaning of the essay.
