Approaching Expectations The project showed effort, with some understanding of the short story, though the project may be somewhat unoriginal or confusing.	Meets Expectations The project is original and demonstrates a clear understanding of the themes, characters and/or events of the short story.	Exceeds Expectations The project is original and demonstrates an advanced understanding of the theme of Grace & Truth as found in scripture.
Work quality/effort 20 pts	Below Expectations The work is done with little effort and appears rushed. The student shows little understanding of the story.	Approaching Expectations The work was done with good effort. It shows that the student has an understanding of characters, plot, and theme of the short story.	Meets Expectations The work done shows the student has a good understanding of characters, plot, and theme of the short story.	Exceeds Expectations The work done exceeds expectations and shows the student has a complete understanding of the theme of Grace & Truth as found in scripture.
Creativity 20 pts	Below Expectations The project lacks thought and creative design.	Approaching Expectations The project is clear and logical. Creativity is visible.	Meets Expectations The project shows a degree of creativity and style that grabs the viewers attention.	Exceeds Expectations The project shows a highly creative approach to the task, grabs the viewers attention to demonstrate an original idea.

Approaching Expectations The write up describes the piece, but the connection to the short story is weak or unsupported.	Meets Expectations The write up clearly describes the piece and how it relates to the short story by providing details from the story and explains the creators though process.	Exceeds Expectations The write up shows exceptional understanding of the relationship between the creative piece and the story. The write up is supported by evidence from the text and shows thinking behind the piece.
