Posture	Superior Student sits with correct posture and consistently demonstrates a proper playing position no visible tension.	Excellent Student's posture is somewhat correct and most of the time demonstrates a proper playing position with limited visible tension.	Good Student often shows tension or improper body/instrument position during playing.	Needs Improvement Student rarely demonstrates proper posture, tension is highly visible in the throat, jaw and body. Instrument is held incorrectly	N/A Student does not demonstrate any aspects of how to sit or hold instrument properly.
Breath Support	Superior Student is breathing properly and supporting the tone to the best of his/her ability.	Excellent Student is usually breathing properly, but occasionally does not support the tone to the end of phrases.	Good Student sometimes breathes properly and only occasionally supports the tone to the end of the phrases.	Needs Improvement Student rarely breathes properly. Tone Quality	Superior Tone Quality is consistently clear throughout the range of the instrument.	Excellent Tone Quality is clear through the normal playing range.
