Excellent

The student attends the whole of class from beginning to end whether in person or remotely.
Good

The student attends class physically or remotely, but is either tardy or leaves early.
Fair

The student attends class physically or remotely, but is tardy AND leaves early.
Poor

The student "technically"attends class physically or remotely, but is present for such a short time that their attendance has had no value on their education.

Classroom Norms

Applies to both in-person and remote learning

Excellent

The student observes and puts into practice all classroom norms such as being respectful, responsible, prepared, etc. If logging into class remotely, the student follows all norms and etiquette expected by district guidelines such as keeping camera on, replying when spoken to, being properly dressed and in an acceptable environment for learning.
Good

The student has to be spoken to once about following class norms.
Fair

The student has to be spoken to twice about following class norms.
Poor

The student has to be spoken to three times about following class norms.

The student has not followed class norms to expectation.
Participation

The student must balance attendance with active participation that ensures their best academic success.

Excellent

The student demonstrates full engagement that includes but is not limited to active listening, responding, questioning, positive partner and group interaction, and completion of all lesson activities.
Good

The student demonstrates partial engagement that includes but is not limited to active listening, responding, questioning, positive partner and group interaction, and completion of all lesson activities. This means they may require at least one teacher check-in to resume being on task.
Fair

The student demonstrates limited engagement that includes but is not limited to active listening, responding, questioning, positive partner and group interaction, and completion of all lesson activities. This means they may require two or more teacher check-ins to resume being on task.
Poor

The student demonstrates the most minimal engagement that includes but is not limited to active listening, responding, questioning, positive partner and group interaction, and completion of all lesson activities. This means they may ignore repeated teacher check-ins to resume task, but may occasionally come back to task.
Not Done

The student does not attend class or outright refuses to be on task.
Instruments & Equipment
25 pts

During in-person learning, the student may be provided instruments and other equipment for learning use. If in remote learning, this category will not be counted.

Excellent

The student respects all instruments and equipment being certain to use it as directed with care so that the learning experience can be meaningful for themselves and others in both individual and group work.
Good

The student has to be spoken to once about respecting property & equipment.
Fair

The student has to be spoken to twice about respecting property & equipment.
Poor

The student has to be spoken to thrice about respecting property & equipment.
Not Done

The student demonstrates blatant disregard for respecting property & equipment.
