Organization	EMERGING/needs work Binder is organized into sections, but work is not placed into designated sections.	PROFICIENT/Good! Binder is organized into sections and most of the work is placed in designated sections.	ADVANCED/Great! Binder is organized into subjects and all work is neatly filed in it's appropriate section in order.
Neatness	EMERGING/needs work Binder is somewhat neat. Notes are somewhat neatly written, but there is no evidence of effort There are loose papers in the BINDER.	PROFICIENT/Good! Binder is tidy; Everything is 3-hole punched or in page protector; Notes are neatly written.	ADVANCED/Great! Binder is exceptionally neat & no loose pages; Notes are well-written and/or typed for clarity; Everything is 3-hole punched or in a protector.

Tools	EMERGING/needs work No pencil bag. No highlighter. No pens and pencils. Tabs are not clearly marked.	PROFICIENT/Good! There is a pencil bag, but it has few supplies that are used. There are no pencils and maybe a pen. There is only ONE highlighter. There is the regular paper version of AVID planner	ADVANCED/Great! There is a pencil bag filled with different colors of highlighters, pens and pencils, eraser. Tabs are neat and clearly marked. There is a store purchased planner used
