Machine Operation	Excellent Student did not need help with the sewing machine and was able to help others.	Good Student needs help with the sewing machine some of the time.	Poor Student needs help with the sewing machine on most,days.
Followed directions to sew project	Excellent Student needed little or no assistance in reading directions and completed the project without help.	Good Student needed help with a few of the written directions to complete project.	Poor Student needed assistance reading instructions through entire project.
Seams	Excellent All seams are 1/2" and threads are cut. Seam finishes correct.	Good Some seams are 1/2" and some are not. seam finishes are present but not at the edge of seam	Poor Seams are not 1/2". No seam finishes.
Topstitching	Excellent Topstitching is completed using an accurate 1/4" seam. Threads are cut.	Good Topstitching is not completed using a straight 1/4" seam.	Poor No topstitching is done.
Applique	Excellent Applique stitching looks good; edge completely covered with zigzag stitches. Threads are cut.	Good Applique stitching is a little uneven; may have some missed areas. Threads are cut.	Poor Applique is poorly done, many areas where zigzag stitching is missing. Threads not cut.
Zipper	Excellent Zipper construction is well done. Looks very nice and will hold during much use.	Good Zipper construction is fair and will not tear out, but doesn't look nice.	Poor Zipper construction is poor. Will probably tear out.
Box Corners	Excellent Box corners are well done. Look very nice and give bag a supported appearance.	Good Box corner construction is fair but corners are uneven. Bag looks supported.	Poor Box corner construction is poor. Corners uneven or odd-looking.
Completed project	Excellent Very well done. Looks professional.	Good Construction is fair. Will hold together, but doesn't look nice.	Poor Doesn't look like a zipper bag. Poorly constructed.
Time Management	Excellent Student used time wisely. Came into class, got supplies out, worked during class time and cleaned up and was ready for the next class.	Good Completed on time, but student wasted time talking, messing around, etc.	Poor Not completed in a timely mannner. Student spent time poorly.
