Greek Vase Worksheet

Poor

Did not complete a worksheet at all
Fair

Missing 3 of the requirements
Good

Missing 1 or 2 requirements
Excellent

Completed the worksheet. Vase drawing has the shape, two patterns, and 3 figures mapped out.
Construction

Poor

You can see the armature of the vase, many holes, falling apart, cannot stand up on its own, handles not attached, tabs of paper loose on vase
Fair

An attempt was made to cover all the holes, but still has places that are not smooth. Some tabs but not huge pieces. Wobbles on the table, but can stand up on its own. Handles are attached but bent.
Good

Able to stand on table on its own, no tabs hanging off of the vase, small holes that COULD have been fixed.
Excellent

Perfect, any "holes" are so small that it is not noticeable. Handles are shaped and attached well. Base is solid and sits well on the table.
Painting

Poor

Areas not painted at all. Pattern lines are not solid, and patterns are uneven in their design. Edges have brush strokes and are not solid.
Fair

Lines look organic, not solid either, and do not resemble a pattern as they change as you turn the vase. Some newsprint is visible or lots of patchy areas that clearly did not have a second coat.
Good

Still can not see any newsprint under the paint, but lots of brush strokes. Lines are solid, but un-even and bumpy. Lines were created without a plan.
Excellent

Unable to see brush strokes, newspaper print, or other distractions. Lines are solid and even.
Requirements/Effort

Poor

Missing 4 or more requirements. Spent little to no time working, had others work for them, Ms. Hames told them major things to work on and they never fixed them.
Fair

Missing 2 or 3 requirements.
Good

Missing one requirement. Little effort put in. Ms. Hames mentioned minor improvements and they were not completed when there was plenty of time. Peer made suggestions that were also ignored.
Excellent

Has a handle (or two), body, foot, neck, and mouth. Has at least 3 figures or has one very detailed figure that Ms. Hames has approved. Two pattern sections like the worksheet mapped out. Peer and Ms. Hames said the vase was complete.
