Few grammar and spelling errors. An effort was made to form a concise topic with few details for a speech. Students can effectively incorporate information taught in class in their speeches and present an argument.

No grammar and spelling errors. Sentences have a clear structure and directions were followed accordingly. The speech presents a clear topic with a persuasive argument with evidence of information learned in class, as well as a personal, creative twist.
Collaboration

Did not engage with the group and/or showed a lack of communication. Mimial effort in creating the project is evident in the contents of the final project. A list of students and their assigned group tasks was not attached/was not followed.

Shows group effort with evidence of communication within the project. Tasks were delegated fairly to each student, and a list of students who collaborated in the group was provided.
Excellent

Shows a significant amount of collaboration. Every student complied with a task assigned by their peers, and the project shows evidence of a group effort, with a list of names of each student attached. Students were also able to communicate ideas effectively.
Internet Research

DId not provide online research, or completed the iCivics online assignments. Information provided was either taken from the textbook, or there was a lack of research altogether. Students did not demonstrate their abilities to research, navigate, and properly utilize the Internet.

Students presented evidence of online research with sources in the bibliography of the final project. The information is accurate as well as relevant to the final project. Students demonstrated proper online etiquette.
Excellent

Students demonstrated excellent online research skills and collected accurate information from more than one reliable source. The information provided is relevant and also poses further questions for the students to think about in creating their projects.
Creative Spin

Below Average

Did not demonstrate/include an artistic spin on the project that utilized digital media such as photos, audio, graphics, etc. The artistic lens is barely shown, as well as minimal evidence of creativity.
Good

Students show an attempt at including digital media tools. The project shows a deeper comprehension of the information learned in class in a way that is visually appealing.
Excellent

Students make exceptional use of their digital media tools and provide more than one feature such as photos, animation, etc. The art that is constructed also shows a strong connection to the final project, and utilized propaganda methods of ethos, pathos, and logos.
