Pitch accuracy is poor: performed most of the pitches incorrectly; tempo was not consistent; major fingering issues; practice outside of guitar rehearsal is necessary.

Pitch accuracy is good: Performed most of the pitches correctly with few errors; tempo (pulse) was not steady; minor fingering issues.
Excellent
Pitch Accuracy is excellent: Confidently performed all pitches correctly; steady tempo (pulse); correct fingerings.
Posture
Poor
Posture is bad. Student is slouching with back on the chair; legs are crossed; the instrument is being the boss of the student.
Good
Posture is serviceable but not entirely as taught. May have 2-3 errors.
Excellent
Posture is excellent. Student is sitting with back off of their chair on the front half of the seat; hands are properly positioned; footstool is in use; student is in charge of their instrument.
Articulation
Poor
Articulation is poor: Student is not strumming correctly; the sound is very twangy and muted. Student is sliding between all notes or finger position is otherwise greatly compromised.
Good
Articulation is good: Minor errors in finger position; student is noticeably trying to play with a good sound most of the time.
Excellent
Articulation is excellent! Student is letting their notes ring out appropriately; notes are consistently clear and sound appropriate. Technique & positioning of both hands is good.
Rhythm
Poor
Major mistakes on rhythm: Student is not keeping a steady beat; the note values are being played incorrectly (Example: half note being played for one beat instead of two)
Good
Minor and somewhat frequent rhythm issues; the pulse is unsteady at times; not all rhythms are being played with the correct value.
Excellent
Excellent Rhythm; Student maintains a steady pulse throughout; the rhythms are all given their correct length.
