Photo Essay Introduction 50 % Enter description	Poor Student wrote less than the 2-page minimum and was missing more than one of the three components needed in the introduction.	Fair Student wrote less than the 2-page minimum and was missing one of the three components needed in the introduction.	Good Student wrote at least a 2-page minimum introduction to photo essay which talks about the what the subject is, why it is important to examine, and how it is a relevant topic in our society.
Conventions 10 %	Poor The response demonstrates a lack of command of conventions:errors are frequent and severe and meaning is often obscure	Fair The response demonstrates an adequate command of conventions: some errors in usage and sentence formation may be present, but no systematic pattern of errors is displayed adequate use of punctuation, capitalization, and spelling	Good The response demonstrates a strong command of conventions: few, if any, errors are present in usage and sentence formation effective and consistent use of punctuation, capitalization, and spelling
Photographs 20 % Enter description	Poor Student had less than half of necessary photographs.	Fair Students had 9 or less photos. Photos were not in a logical or cohesive sequence.	Good Student had 10-12 photographs they took themselves. Photos were in a logical and cohesive order.
Captions 10 %	Poor More than 4 photos did not have captions.	Fair 2-3 photos were missing captions.	Good Each photograph had it's own caption.
Presentation 10 % Enter description	Poor Student did not give a presentation.	Fair Student gave an unclear presentation.	Good Student gave a clear and understandable presentation.
