Machine Operation	Poor The student has poor knowledge of sewing machine and needs help daily.	Needs Improvement The student needs help with the sewing machine on most of the days.	Satisfactory The student needs help with the machine some of the time.	Excellent The students did not need help with the sewing machine and was able to help others.
Seams	Poor Seams are puckered or falling apart. They are stitched too far in and done sloppily	Needs Improvement Seams are not stitched straight and what is called for in the instructions and not secured. In some places holes are in place where stitching did not cover.	Satisfactory Seams are stitched looser than what instructions called for. Point of heart was not satin stitched.	Excellent Seams are stitched correctly in construction and turned correctly. Correct sides of the fabric are together.
Backing/Edges	Poor Fabric is not cut to the correct size. Edges are pressed but not turned under.	Needs Improvement Fabric backing is cut evenly and pressed but edges have not correctly been turned under.	Satisfactory Fabric backing is cut correctly and edges have been pressed and sewn.	Excellent Fabric backing is cut correctly and edges have been pressed and sewn correctly.
Applique'	Poor Applique attached poorly or not done.	Needs Improvement Applique is attached correctly. Stitching very uneven. Threads do not coordinate with rest of project.	Satisfactory Applique is attached correctly. Stitching mostly neat & even. Threads coordinate with project.	Excellent Applique is attached correctly. Stitching around it is neat and even. Threads coordinate with project.
Appearance: Clean & Neat	Poor Assignment has a poor appearance.	Needs Improvement Assignment is not pressed, threads are not trimmed.	Satisfactory Assignment is clean and pressed but threads are not trimmed.	Excellent Assignment is clean, pressed, and threads are trimmed.
Time Management	Poor The student did not finish the project by the due date and project is incomplete.	Needs Improvement The student did not finish the project by the due date but project is complete.	Satisfactory Project was turned in on due date.	Excellent Project was turned in early.
Clean Up	Poor The student did not help clean up their area.	Needs Improvement The student only cleaned up their area when reminded.	Satisfactory The student cleaned up their area.	Excellent The student cleaned up room on daily basis and helped others.
