Active Involvement	Excellent Student works extremely well with other jurors, encouraging quieter members to contribute; student does not dominate discussions but serves as a leader and facilitator.	Good Student works well with group; student asks for some contribution from fellow members; student does not need reminders to stay on task.	Needs Improvement Student is often engaged in the activity but does not work well with others. Student can be distracted. Student may dominate the discussion to the detriment of his/her team.	Poor Student is not involved with the trial. Student needs constant reminders to get back on task.
Preparation	Excellent Student displayed a mastery of case evidence and full comprehension of the facts.	Good Student displayed a an understanding of case evidence and cited some of the facts.	Needs Improvement Student displayed little understanding of case evidence and little comprehension of the facts.	Poor Student does not appear to understand how to use evidence AND/OR demonstrates a lack of understanding of the trial.
Performance	Excellent Student took excellent notes on deliberation that focused on evidence; Student passed judgement based on the evidence presented and backed their decision with that evidence.	Good Student took adequate notes on the deliberation that recorded evidence. Student passed judgment based on evidence, but may not have fully explained or "backed up" decision.	Needs Improvement Student took notes but did not focus on text evidence. Student makes a decision but fails to back it up with evidence from the trial.	Poor Student does not take notes. Student decision is not based on court evidence/text evidence.
Work Product	Excellent Student demonstrated a complete understanding of character role and court procedures	Good Student demonstrated some understanding of character role/court procedures	Needs Improvement Student had acceptable understanding but did not perform adequately in accordance with discussed court procedures	Poor Student had poor performance and did not show understanding of the character role/ court.
