Shoebox Habitat Shoebox Habitat You will build a habitat for the animal you have chosen based off your research. Habitat must be accurate and include one preditor of your animal and one prey. Then create a presentation that includes your animal's habitat, behavior, and fun facts. Rubric Code: M2WW449 By ers051 Ready to use Public Rubric Subject: Science Type: Project Grade Levels: K-5

Habitat
	Poor 1 pts	Fair 2 pts	Great 3 pts
Accurate	Poor Is not where that animal lives at all.	Fair Parts are right, but other parts don't match the surroundings.	Great Is accurate of the actual habitat including colors, vegetation, and temperature.
Clean	Poor Is very messy. Glue everywhere, things are falling apart.	Fair Looks okay, but not a lot of effort was put in.	Great Looks AWESOME. Things are glued properly, cut nicely, colored/painted well. Clearly some time was put in for this one.
Shows Predator and Prey	Poor Has neither a predator or prey.	Fair Has one or the other.	Great Has both a predator and a prey.
Presentation
Includes Habitat	Poor Doesn't mention the habitat at all.	Fair Tells you where it is, but not about it or why it is important for the animal.	Great Gives descriptive details about the habitat, where they are in the world, and why it is so important for the animal.
Includes Animal Behaviors	Poor Doesn't tell us about the animals behaviors at all.	Fair Includes some animal behaviors.	Great Tells us all about animal behaviors. What the animal eats, how it hunts, how it avoids being eaten, how those things relate to the habitat.
Fun Facts	Poor Includes no extra information.	Fair Kind of includes extra information, but could still be grouped with one of the above sections.	Great Has super cool and interesting extra information about the animal that was not part of the above sections.
