Civil Rights Project You will research seven preselected Civil Rights events. You need to draw a picture to illustrate each event and it should be in full color. You will also use the organizer I gave you and write a paragraph telling about each event that includes who, what, when, where, and why each event happened. Civil Rights

Number of events	Poor Includes less than five of the events.	Fair Includes FIVE of the events.	Good Includes SIX of the events	Excellent Includes all SEVEN events.
Attention to detail	Poor Missing illustrations or work was done poorly.	Fair Illustrations are there for each event but are not in full color or are done hastily.	Good Illustrations are there for EACH event and in full color but it is apparent more time could have been taken.	Excellent It is obvious that the student took a lot of time on the project and added many details to their illustrations. There is an illustration for EACH event. Also, the pictures are in full color.
Paragraphs	Poor Missing many paragraphs or a lot of the criteria has not been met.	Fair Not all of the events have paragraphs or the ones that are there are done poorly.	Good EACH event has a paragraph but some are missing the who, what, when, where, or why.	Excellent EACH event has a very descriptive paragraph telling the who, what, when, where, and why for each event.
Grammar and Punctuation	Poor Difficult to read because of the many grammar and spelling errors.	Fair A lot of spelling and / or grammar errors are present. The handwriting is messy or there are many erase marks.	Good Some errors in spelling and grammar and the handwriting is neat with very few erase marks.	Excellent Very few errors in spelling and grammar and the handwriting is extremely neat with very few erase marks.
Time on task	Poor Several prompts were given by the teacher to get back on task. Project was late.	Fair Several prompts were given by the teacher to get back on task.	Good Most of the time given by the teacher was spent on task and working with only a few reminders to get back on task.	Excellent All time given by the teacher was spent on task and working hard.
