Sonnet Rubric Students create their own Shakespearean sonnet whose subject is something praiseworthy: God, aspects of nature, love, compassion, etc. Sonnet must be 14 lines, in iambic pentameter and have Shakespearean rhyme scheme. Effort, Creativity, Overall Quality	Excellent Clearly put a great deal of effort into the sonnet. Sonnet is very poetic and expressive. Sonnet show a creativity in subject matter or expression.	Good Clearly put some effort into the sonnet but word choice is simpler. Sonnet is poetic and somewhat expressive. Sonnet shows some creativity in subject matter choice and/or expression.
