Student usually listens to the instructor, does not interrupt class and rarely reminded to get on task. Student is usually respectful and engaged in the musical activity and/or teacher. Student usually expresses a positive attitude towards activities and is generally on task.
Excellent
Student always listens to the instructor, does not interrupt class and stays on task. Student is always extremely respectful and always tries his/her best. Student sometimes does extra work on the subject/activity and almost always on task.
Musical Engagement

Student almost never plays. Does not participates on the instruments during
the period of instruction. Student is rarely on task and may be walking around room socializing.
Needs Improvement
Student frequently
does NOT play, answers questions, and participates on their instruments during
the period of instruction. Student is not on task typically and could be confusing socializing and not focusing on the instrument.

Student plays, answers questions, and participates and is focused on the instrument almost
the entire period of instruction. Student is generally on task.

Student stays on task, plays, answers questions, and is focused participating on their instruments during
the entire period of instruction.
