Art - Exploring Line Art - Exploring Line Students are introduced to the concept of line as an Element of Design. Line Quality	Level R Has not followed instructions for application of lines.	Level 1 An attempt to apply lines correctly has been made. Lines are sloppy and appear to be quickly sketched in.	Level 2 Line was used correctly but was not consistently interesting or was rarely applied in some areas. Few line types	Level 3 Lines were used correctly. Time, effort and thought was clearly put into placement of lines and a variety of line types	Level 4 Lines were used correctly. A great deal of time, effort and thought was put into the placement and use of a variety of lines in this composition.
Balance / Use of Space	Level R Space has been used very poorly. There is no sense of asymmetrical balance. Finished composition is not unified.	Level 1 Space has been used somewhat effectively. The composition is not entirely balanced but an attempt has been made. Finished product is mostly unified.	Level 2 Space has been used fairly effectively. The composition feels balanced, but has some dead space that could have been used better. Finished product is somewhat organised.	Level 3 Space has been used quite effectively. The composition feels balanced with no dead space. Finished product is well organised and feels complete.	Level 4 Space is used very effectively. The composition is nicely balanced and interesting. Finished product is very organised and feels complete.
Inspirational image	Level R Image is used incorrectly or without refinement, drawing is unfinished or appears messy and needs attention. Presentation has not been considered.	Level 1 Use of Image could be improved or cleaned up. Some areas of the drawing need further attention. The student finished the project, but it could have been improved with more effort.	Level 2 Used image fairly well but could be improved or cleaned up. Inspiration can be seen The composition is finished but appears rushed in areas.	Level 3 Image is used carefully, inspiration is present and used skillfully and the poster is completely finished.	Level 4 Inspirational image is used with a great deal of care and skill. Use of lines adds a lot of interest and skillfully draws the viewers eye. Finished poster meets all expectations.
