Average The artwork is planned carefully; understanding of most concepts and instructions is shown.	Good The artwork is planned somewhat carefully, understanding of some concepts and instructions shown.	Poor The artwork shows little to no evidence of understanding the concepts and instructions.
Craftsmanship/Medium 20 pts	Excellent The artwork shows outstanding craftsmanship, with clear attention to detail. Excellent understanding and use of selected medium.	Average The artwork shows average craftsmanship and attention to detail. Average understanding and use of selected medium.	Good The artwork shows good craftsmanship with some attention to detail and/or neatness. Basic understanding and use of selected medium.	Poor The artwork shows poor craftsmanship and no attention to detail. No real understanding or use of selected medium.
Creativity/Originality 20 pts	Excellent The artwork demonstrates original expression through art and creativity.	Average The artwork demonstrates some original expression through art and creativity.	Good The artwork demonstrates little originality and a small amount of expression through art and creativity.	Poor The artwork is not original and lacks evidence expression through art and creativity.
Effort 20 pts	Excellent The student put forth extraordinary effort to complete the project with excellence; used class time extremely well.	Average The student put forth the effort required to complete the project well; used class time well.	Good The student put forth basic effort and did not fully complete project requirements; used class time adequately.	Poor The student put forth little to no effort and the project was not completed; class time was not used well.
