Player had difficulty fielding 50% of ground balls. Does not demonstrate the use of the 5 basic fielding fundamentals.

Player able to field at least 6 ground balls. May lack three or more of the 5 basic fielding fundamentals.

Player able to field at least 7 ground balls.
May lack one or two of the 5 basic fielding fundamentals.

Player able to field 8-10 routine ground ball successfully. Demonstated the following 5 basic fielding fundamentals:
1. Ready stance with feet a least shoulder width apart, knees bent, glove and throwing hand extended in front of the body.
2. Moves body toward the ball.
3. Fields ball with feet apart and knees bent.
4. Fields ball out in front of the body.
5. Secures ball with both hands.

Player had difficulty accurately throwing to a target. Does not demonstate the use of the 7 basic throwing fundamentals.

Player able to accurately throw to a target at least 6 times. May lack three more of the 7 basic throwing fundamentals.

Player able accurately throw to a target at least 7 times. May lack one or two of the 7 basic fundamentals.

Player able to accurately throw to a target 8-10 times. Demonstates the use of the following 7 basic throwing fundementals:
1. Use proper foot work (heal click or "crow hop")
2. Steps toward target with stride foot.
3. Points glove side elbow at target.
4. Pulls glove down toward hip at time of throw.
5. Throwing arm elbow travels above the shoulder.
6. Proper follow through of back leg.
