S-SPECIFIC	Meets Expectations for Standard The goal is clearly stated and includes language/terminology that fully describes the goal.	Progressing Towards Standards The goal is stated, but lacks descriptive language to inform the reader of what is going to be accomplished.	Experiencing Difficulty The goal is either not stated clearly or is too general. The goal does not include descriptive language or proper terminology.
M-MEASURABLE	Meets Expectations for Standard The goal can be easily assessed and evaluated by the student throughout the Marking Period. Progress and achievement can be measured and described by the student.	Progressing Towards Standards The goal can be assessed and evaluated by the student, but with a lesser degree of clarity. The student has difficulty measuring progress or achievement of the goal because it is too general	Experiencing Difficulty The goal lacks structure for assessment and evaluation. Progress or achievement of this goal cannot be measured readily by the student or teacher.
A-ATTAINABLE	Meets Expectations for Standard The goal is appropriate for the individual student but provides enough challenge for personal growth. Regardless of whether or not the student meets their anticipated goal, it is realistically achievable during the allotted time frame.	Progressing Towards Standards The goal is somewhat appropriate for the individual student but does not provide enough challenge for personal growth during the allotted time frame.	Experiencing Difficulty The goal is not appropriate for the individual student. The goal does not challenge the student or is too challenging to complete within the allotted time frame.
R-RELEVANT	Meets Expectations for Standard The goal is realistic and directly correlates to the content that is being learned in class. The goal may also include the personal interests of an individual student.	Progressing Towards Standards The goal is realistic but may lack clarity in its relation to class content. More description is needed for how this goal specifically relates to Physical Education.	Experiencing Difficulty The goal is not realistic and does not relate well to class content.
