Student was unable to communicate their ideas and main points effectively when either questioned or during the activity.

Student showed some understanding with questioning but needed some scaffolding of language support.
VERY GOOD
Student was able to show understanding of the question with minimal errors in grammar or syntax. Shows flowing fluency in hot seating activity.
EXCELLENT
Student can communicate in a group and 1-1 scenario, in a variety of academic and spoken language context.
Retention and use of New Language

Student was unable to understand or use the new vocabulary words from the text.

Student recalled some vocabulary words but needed help with others and/or needed help for pronunciation and how to use them effectively.

Student needs a lot of scaffolding in answering a question in relation to the comprehension of the text. Student has difficulties in understanding how to respond.
VERY GOOD
Student shows understanding of the text when questioned, some difficulties persist in expressing the correct responses to the speaking.
EXCELLENT
Student is able to understand the text and respond appropriately and effectively when questioned and/or asked to perform a role play.
Pronunciation
NEEDS IMPROVEMENT
Student needed considerable support in talking to the group.
GOOD
Student needed some support in reading talking to the group.
VERY GOOD
Student has some difficulties with key vocabulary.
EXCELLENT
Student is able to almost 100% fluently spoke during activity.
