BUMPING
Emerging
Showed ready position, proper platform for target is lacking, legs are stiff, "elephant" swing apparent, no ball control
Developing
Inconsistent platform to target, body in upright position, little knee bend, little ball control as ball is propelled in unpredictable places.
Proficient
Platform to target, body in athletic stance, weight on balls of feet, proper knee bend, ball control apparent.
Extending
Platform to target, body in low athletic stance, weight on balls of feet, knees bent, ball goes over the net toward target, & can pass with a purpose.

Occasionally in ready position, moves 1 or 2 steps, given effort but reaction time & predictions are slow
Proficient
Mostly in ready position, Movement allows for adequate court coverage & reaction time is sufficient.
Extending
Always in ready position, movement allows for good court coverage, directs others to be in the correct place. Good to excellent, ball reaction time.
TEAMWORK

Does not communicate with teammates, lacks cooperation with teammates, does not call for the ball, & acts negatively towards teammates.
Developing
Occasionally communicates with teammates, cooperates with teammates, occasionally calls for ball, rarely assists teammates.
Proficient
Communicates with teammates regularly, cooperates & occasionally strategizes with teammates, often times calls for ball, occasionally assists teammates & calls hits in and out.
Extending
Encourages & initiates communication, cooperates & strategizes with teammates, aggressively calls for ball, assists teammates, helps call hits in and out.
