World War I Project World War I Project This rubric is best used for a project that comes after the students learned about WWI. My students are allowed to pick their own topic and design their own project (with my approval) to best reflect their interests and talents. Creativity	Fail Student work lacks creativity in its entirety.	Poor Student put very little thought into the project.	Fair Student uses some creativity throughout entire project. There is little to no originality.	Good Student uses creativity throughout entire project. There is some originality, while other ideas were borrowed.	Excellent Student uses creativity throughout entire project. Originality is apparent.
Effort	Fail Student work displays no effort in its entirety.	Poor Student work displays minimal effort. It looks like a first-grader could have done it.	Fair Student work displays some effort, but looks too simple. Student used some technology and/or higher-level thinking skills.	Good Student work displays a very good effort. Student used technology and/or higher-level thinking skills.	Excellent Student work displays an outstanding effort. Project looks like it could win an award in a district-wide competition. Student used technology and/or higher-level thinking skills.
Accuracy	Fail Student work is inaccurate in its entirety.	Poor Student work displays 4-5 inaccuracies.	Fair Student work displays 2-3 inaccuracies.	Good Student work displays a maximum of 1 inacuracy.	Excellent Student work is completely accurate in its entirety. There are no factual mistakes.
Sources Used	Fail Student used only one source.	Poor Student used two sources	Fair Student used 3 sources.	Good Student used at least three strong academic sources.	Excellent Student used more than three strong academic.
