Architectural Drawings Layout Plan Evaluation Section 
This rubric will give the students a guidline to follow in order to complete his/her work to the best of their ability. It will also allow them to see what area they may need improvement on in order for them to score the maximum amount of points toward their grade on each project.

Overall Appearance

Excellent

Project board is clean and clear of any smudges, tears, stray pencil lines or bits of tape. Drawings are properly arranged on the board and the boarder is even from the edges.
Acceptable

There are some smudges from the use of dirty equipment. Drawings are accordingly arranged. An edge or two may be torn due to removal of drafting tape.
Unacceptable

Drawings are not arranged on the board and crosses outside of the boarder. The board looks dirty and there are stray lines and/or tears in several places
Completeness

Excellent

All necessary drawings are contained within the board.
Acceptable

There are some details missing from the drawings.
Unacceptable

There are many details missing from the drawing .
Accuracy

Excellent

All information is included in its correct location and at its correct scale according to the project directions.
Acceptable

Some details are not drawn to the correct size and cause only minor mistakes to the rest of the drawing.

There are a significant number of scaling errors or misplaced details. These mistakes may cause the rest of the drawing to be off to some extent.
Line Weight

Excellent

Proper line weight was used for each of the drawing, the titleblock, any notes or dimensions, and any included details in the drawing.
Acceptable

Some line wieghts that should be different are drawn with the same line weight.
Unacceptable

There is no difference between lineweights and no particular detail stands out when compared to another.
Line Quality

Excellent

Straight, dark, and consistent lines throughout the drawing and for each individual line weight.
Acceptable

Some lines trail off when they meet another or change darknes at the beggining or end.
Unacceptable

Lines are choppy and do not meet with their intended targets. Some lines are heavy in areas and light in others.
Architectural Lettering

Excellent

Proper technique and tools for lettering are used. Vertical lines of letters are perfectly straight and letters are the same width and height. Guidlines are used and are drawn lightly.
Acceptable

Guidlines are not used but letters are still level. Proper pencil point was not used.
Unacceptable

No equipment is used to draw letters and guidelines were not utilized. Sizes of letters vary from one label to another. Words are not straight and level.
Proper Notes

Excellent

Proper notes were used to identify the type of plan and the scale at which it was drawn. Also the title block is labeled and filled in with the correct information.
Acceptable

Some minor notes describing the drawing were left out.
Unacceptable

There are a significant number of notes missing from the drawing. The drawing is missing important notes that describe scale, type, or owner of drawing.
