Finding Lines of Symmetry Finding Lines of Symmetry Objective: Student will determine if a figure has a line symmetry and if so how many lines of symmetry. Construct a figure with at least one line of symmetry and identify the line of symmetry (verify the shape has symmetry using reflections/flipping). 	Needs Work 3 pts	Fair 5 pts	Good 8 pts	Excellent 10 pts
Comprehension	Needs Work Shows little understanding of symmetry.	Fair Shows some understanding of symmetry.	Good Shows a an acceptable degree of understanding of symmetry.	Excellent Shows a high degree of understanding of symmetry.
Accuracy	Needs Work Is able to make only 1 shape. Numerous errors. Was unable to identify the correct lines of symmetry in the objects. Work is messy.	Fair Is able to make at least 2 shapes. More than a few errors in either or both the thought of finding the line of symmetry of each shape.	Good Is able to make at least 3 shapes. A few minor errors but was able to identify the line/s of symmetry.	Excellent Is able to make 4 or more shapes. No major errors, all lines of symmetry defined. Neat work.
