Criteria
	3-Outstanding 3 pts	2-Excellent 2 pts	1-On your way 1 pts
Words/Sentences	3-Outstanding I wrote 4 or more complete sentences.	2-Excellent I wrote 3 complete sentences.	1-On your way I wrote 2 or more sentences.
Spelling	3-Outstanding I spelled all of my words correctly. My spelling has the correct beginning, middle, and ending. I spelledl my sight words correctly.	2-Excellent I used invented spelling. My spelling has at some of my sounds correctly. I spell some of my sight words correctly.	1-On your way I used invented spelling and I have at least 1 sound for each word correctly. I do not spell any sight words correctly.
Grammar	3-Outstanding I used a capital letter and a period, exclamation point or question mark correctly on all sentences.	2-Excellent I used more than 1 capital letter or punctuation in correct places.	1-On your way I used at least 1 capital letter or punctuation mark in the correct place.
Drawing	3-Outstanding My picture expressed a high level of understanding of organism, the clear details and more than three characteristics in my drawing.	2-Excellent I used a good level of detail and understanding in drawing my favorite organism. I showed interest and detailed at least two characteristcs.	1-On your way I drew a picture that showed I know what an organism is. I used color and detailed at least 1 characteristic.
