No audible mistakes, clear and accurate sound, good musicality.

Minimal mistakes made but with quick recovery.

Some mistakes, slow recovery. Patterns not established.

Many hesitations in playing notes.
Poor
Completely inaccurate and incomprehensible. Notes are not learned.
Fingering
Advanced
All fingerings are set and played correctly.

Minimal mistakes, most fingerings have been established and used.

Some mistakes. Fingering not established in all sections.

Little fingering set in the piece. Many places need to be worked on in order to have the piece flow.

No use of set fingerings.
Tempo and Dynamics
Advanced
Great rhythm and tempo right on, very expressive, correct use of dynamics (where applicable.)
Proficient
Decent rhythm and tempo, few errors, pretty good use of dynamics (where applicable.)
Developing
Average rhythm and tempo, average dynamics (where applicable), non-expressive.
Minimal
Some rhythmic errors in tempo and poor dynamics (where applicable.)
Poor
Several rhythmic errors and tempo was not sustained at all.
Effort
Advanced
Fantastic effort in learning the piece. The piece was polished and the student was prepared to perform.
Proficient
Good effort, but not as polished, not totally prepared to perform.
Developing
Learned piece with insufficient practice, but decently played.
Minimal
Minimal effort made, not prepared.
Poor
Unprepared and did not practice. No progress made.
