Organization	Excellent The main idea is supported by strong details; the categories make sense, and the reader is able to follow and understand what is written.	Good The main idea is supported by adequate details; some categories do not make sense, and at times the reader is not able to follow what is written.	Poor There is no recognizable pattern to the ideas. They seem to be a list of thoughts that confuse the reader.
Depth	Excellent The map's subtopics and ideas highlight the primary topic, providing evidence that knowledge has been extended.	Good The map's subtopics and ideas address the main topic but fail to provide strong evidence that knowledge has been extended.	Poor The map's subtopics and/or ideas do little to support the main topic and provides little or no evidence that knowledge has been extended.
Design	Excellent The map is laid out extremely well; the font is a good size, smart color choice, and pattern; it is very easy to read.	Good The map's layout (consisting of color choice, font size, and pattern) makes some ideas difficult to read.	Poor The layout is poor and difficult to read.
Creativity	Excellent The map is interesting to the eye and uses colors that work well together.	Good Some of the colors do not work well together making parts of the map difficult to read.	Poor The colors are conflicting, and it is very difficult to read.
