The Pledge of Allegiance
	Fair 1 pts	Good 3 pts	Excellent 5 pts
Memorization	Fair student has not memorized their text. student made 3 or more errors (wrong words)	Good student has partially memorized the text. student made 1 or 2 errors (wrong words)	Excellent student completely memorized the text. student made no errors.
Voice	Fair student voice is soft and can not be heard by audience. No voice inflection.	Good student can be heard at times but is mostly soft and not audible. some or little voice inflection	Excellent student is loud enough to be heard and uses voice inflection to add meaning to the Pledge
Body language	Fair student does not assume the correct stance for the Pledge at all. student rocks, sways or lean against board/desk. student lacks practice or effort	Good student does not hold the correct stance for the Pledge the entire time. student may sway, rock or occasionally lean	Excellent student assumes the correct, respectful stance for the Pledge. student's movements are practiced and planned.
Fluency	Fair Student has noticeable pauses or takes long breaks between words. Student restarts multiple times and/or stammers over words.	Good Student takes minimal pauses or breaks. Student restarts or stammers 1-2 times.	Excellent Student speaks at a fluid, conversational pace with no pauses, breaks, or restarts.
